Egypt Signs MoU for Construction of 1st Floating Power Station

The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the possibility of establishing a ship to work as a floating power station.

The MoU was signed with the Alexandria Arsenal Company which is specialized in the shipbuilding and repair industry, and the Tanmia Company for Consulting and Engineering Services, which is specialized in cooperation with power station construction companies; In cooperation with the Finnish company Delta Marine, which specializes in ship design and preparation of initial and feasibility studies. The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy said in a statement, Thursday, March 17, that the memorandum of understanding includes the start of evaluating and discussing the initial study and feasibility study for the modification of ships and the establishment of a power station on self-propelled ships for an electric power ship with a capacity of (100 to 125 megawatts).
